Safe Mode, benefits and usage

Safe Mode

For most we (computer users) may not be a foreign term to the Safe Mode. This feature is available in the Windows operating system, for different purposes. For example, to check or repair damage to the windows system, remove virus, examine the damage and the other driver.

How to enable Safe Mode and what you can when we are already entering Safe Mode?

What is Safe Mode?

Safe mode option is the choice of start-up windows that its main function to handle if there is a problem with the system. Windows will run with the minimal condition, only the files and drivers that are important in the switch, including any additional software, most software is not activated. Then when it is signed in safe mode, it will appear any posts "Safe Mode" at the top of the corner windows.

How to Log In Safe Mode

One way that can be used in almost all windows systems including Windows Vista is by pressing the F8 key when booting windows are (or when the computer starts up and show information Memory / hardware). After that will appear several menu options booting the computer, as follows:

In addition to the menu to select Safe mode, there are many other menus that can be selected. Here are some explanation of the menu-the menu:

* Safe Mode, this option means that Windows will run only the minimum files and drivers, including software-software.
* Safe Mode with Networking, this option such as safe mode with the drivers so that we can utilize Network (Networking)
* Safe Mode with Command Prompt, the same as safe mode only program Command Prompt / MS-DOS Prompt (cmd.exe) will be activated immediately (not explorer)
* Enable Boot Logging, windows will create a file Ntbtlog.txt, when start-up and start-up information will be stored in the file. This file is usually stored in the root system, for example, drive C:
* Enable VGA Mode. Windows will be running with a minimum display modes such as 640 or 800 × 480 × 600. Usually used to check for damage or error [driver] VGA (graphic display windows).
* Last Known Good Configuration, running windows registry using the information that was saved when the last shutdown. Use one if we change the system configuration, or when the windows failed to enter the main display.

Some of the benefits of the Safe Mode

* Uninstall the software before the computer hangs, error and so forth. Sometimes after a certain program installed in the windows problem, so if you can not uninstall in normal mode through the use Safe Mode.
* Disabling of a particular program or application. To facilitate the entry into Safe Mode, can use the Autoruns application that can be obtained free from SysInternals. This technique can also be used to check the computer loading slow. If no Autoruns, can type in msconfig in the Run menu, to run the System Configuration Utility, if it has been selected to appear through the Startup tab.
* Checking the problems with the graphics display windows (VGA). When the display windows problem, can check in by selecting the "Enable VGA Mode", if successful, and do not see the problems, potential problems in the VGA driver.
* Delete the file / virus that can not be through the normal mode. Some antivirus can still run in safe mode, and tried to scan through safe mode. Sometimes the virus is not running in safe mode, although you can also walk / atif although in Safe Mode.

Safe Mode is a standard feature of Windows and sometimes quite useful for some problems such as over, although sometimes such as viruses can also be active in this mode, so use the safe mode is not enough.
