DOS hidden parameters
TRUENAME
Used to display the path to a file or directory
Syntax:
TRUENAME filename --
FDISK / STATUS
It's way easier to see the hard disk partition information. Usually if we have to go first to FDISK and then select option 4. But with FDISK / STATUS we can see the partition information. This at least can we cut the work and reduce the risk of error in the FDISK. Note: This command will not work on DOS 3:30.
FDISK / MBR
The above command will write to the master boot record on the hard disk without changing the partition table information. As a note, writing in the master boot record (in this case) can cause problems on some dual-boot program. For you who have to install Linux and Windows on one hard disk and put LILO on the master boot record, you can remove the LILO command. You can also remove the virus that attacks the boot sector, with the booting from the disk clean and FDISK / MBR.
SHELL = C: \ COMMAND.COM / P / M in (config.sys)
The above command will run a "Fail" on the "Abort, Retry, Fail" (options "Abort, Retry, Fail" appeared normal in the case of "problem" at the time are on the DOS prompt).
Ver / R
Display information about the DOS version is more complete
Parameter confidential format
